seven horrors application

OOC INFO:

Name: Colleen
Age: 40 💀
Pronouns: she/her
Contact: [personal profile] asondeiru, asondeiru on Discord
Invite: Al!

IC INFO:

Name: Ishmael
Canon: Limbus Company
Age: late 20s? 30? Limbus Company is one of those canons that doesn't have official ages for their characters.

Suitability: Limbus Company is set The City, which is filled to the brim with Horrors that are largely (but not exclusively) caused by the evils of capitalism. The game's very extensive trigger warning screen should make it clear that this is a world in which things go very badly very often. Ishmael's experience is no exception to that - she has hunted an eldritch horror on the open seas (twice!); regularly fights monsters borne of human fears, complexes, and/or desires; has died violently and been brought back to life countless times; opposed bug soldiers, vampires, organized crime syndicates with the crazy turned up to 11, and more; etc. Since she's well-versed in living through a horror setting, I can see her serving as something of an anchor* for characters that are less accustomed to it. All said and done, Ishmael is good at keeping a level head when it counts**. The flip side of being so experienced, however, is that she is going to be something of a bossy know-it-all on whatever team she ends up on.

*no pun intended, I swear
**except for one very notable exception that will not apply here

Weaknesses:
  • Overly Critical: Ishmael has very, very high expectations of herself and others, and she has no issues with holding a grudge when those expectations are not met or she feels otherwise slighted.
  • Blunt: Ishmael typically says what's on her mind and does not make any effort to soften the sentiment, even in situations where feelings can be hurt or where saying something out of turn can have disastrous consequences. This tendency gets worse when she's nervous.
  • Dependent on Resurrection Mechanics: This issue isn't unique to Ishmael; all of the Sinners are a little too comfortable with getting injured/killed because they know that Dante can fix it/bring them back without any long-term consequences. Not having that failsafe is going to be a rude awakening for her.

  • Strengths:
  • Dependable: Give Ishmael a task, and she will do her damnedest to make sure that it's done and done right. This is especially true if she doesn't trust anyone else to do so.
  • Intelligent: Ishmael prefers to approach things rationally and tends to make sound judgements. She's the sort of person who reads all the supporting material to make sure she fully understands the situation before taking action on it.
  • Sturdy: Having worked both as a sailor and as a Fixer (read: licensed mercenary), Ishmael is strong and can take a hit. Her base ID is armed with a mace and shield, and she has multiple other IDs that can serve as tanks.

  • TEAM INFO:

Team Suitability: Ishmael is used to being part of a team and is a consummate professional; she will absolutely support whatever team she's on. She'll push back on any authority flouted by leader-types, at first to test the waters (are they actually competent or are they blowing hot air?). If she finds the teammate lacking, she will not hesitate to make her disdain known. As far as noncombatant types who are in over their heads, while she's not a hero per se Ishmael isn't so hard-hearted that she'll leave them to the worst of it. She'll do what she can to protect them and help them out.
What kind of team dynamic do you want? As hilarious as the idea of Ishmael being on a team of only teenagers is, having at least one (1) fellow adult would probably be better for her long-term sanity. Otherwise, I'm not too picky.
Top three teams: Kenkou, Kai-un, Anzen
I cannot be on a team with: n/a
